CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is the use of a camera and other electronic security systems to monitor and record people, processes, or property. There are two types of visual security Solutions: analogue and IP (Internet Protocol).

Benefits of CCTV – Cut down on losses due to theft Increase employee productivity Increase customer and employee safety Provide 24/7 access to your system Reduce the need for manual security (security guards)

Monochrome (black and white) and color CCTV cameras are available. Board CCTV cameras, Bullet CCTV cameras, Fixed Dome cameras or Vandal Proof cameras, Fixed CCTV cameras (also known as Static cameras), Zoom cameras, PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) cameras, High Speed Dome cameras, and IP (Internet Protocol) Network Cameras are some of the numerous types of cameras.

No long-distance cables are required; existing network infrastructure can be utilized. IP security cameras may be relocated with minimal time and effort, and no new cabling is required. IP security cameras can be deployed in any area, regardless of how far away it is. The same camera could be watched or recorded in different locations at the same time, and it could be controlled at various security settings. The recording could take place in any location. A few cameras could be connected to an existing PC or server. Any number of recordings per camera can be made simultaneously, in several places for redundancy or off-site storage. Each camera’s bandwidth could be regulated differently. For video or data recording, hard drive space can be shared among multiple systems. The same encoders that transmit the video can also be used to broadcast audio or alarms. Alarm systems that are already in place could be monitored from afar.

Wireless cameras use WiFi to transmit their footage, whereas wired cameras use wires. Wireless cameras can be powered by batteries or AC electricity (such as a standard household  Socket).A wireless camera becomes a wire-free camera when it is powered by batteries. With the exception of a few clandestine use cameras, all of our cameras are wired. Wireless cameras are not advised for any permanent home or business security camera installation. Wireless cameras have a number of drawbacks that make them unsuitable for security camera installations: Wireless cameras are insecure, they demand electricity, they operate on busy frequency bands, and wireless transmission can be disrupted by a variety of electronic equipment.

In terms of features and functions, IP CCTV cameras are identical to analogue CCTV cameras, but they provide significantly better image quality. They don’t send their sights and sounds as analogue signals; instead, they send them as data. They also have the ability to configure their settings remotely, and on some models, the image sensor of the camera can be configured as well. Built-in web servers in IP CCTV cameras enable live monitoring, recording, and configuration over a computer network or the internet.

A beginner’s guide to CCTV security camera selection
